SEAM Newsletter March 2007ALL GIFTS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE PLEASE MAKE ALL CHECKS PAYABLE TO "SOUTHEAST ASIAN MISSIONS""Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Heb. 11:1, 3 and 6
WHAT IS TRUE FAITH? The dictionary defines it as "belief without proof; confidence; reliance." The Bible takes the definition of faith farther than the dictionary does, calling faith something real, something concrete. Faith is tangible evidence, testimony, or proof of things not seen! Someone with true faith in God has complete confidence in God's Word. He has a total reliance on the Lord; so that no matter what the circumstances are, or seem to be, he knows that God is in control, and that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord. (Romans 8:28) Hebrews Chapter 11 gives a list of the faithful: from Noah and Abraham to David and Samuel. This list of the faithful could also be called a list of the OBEDIENT. It was in faith and in obedience that Noah built the ark, that Abraham journeyed to a strange land, had a son when old, and then was willing to sacrifice that son because God told him to. It was in faith that Moses led the Children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry land. Another one of the faithful was Joshua. In Joshua 11:15 we read that, "As the Lord commanded Moses His servant, so did Moses command Joshua, And so did Joshua; he left NOTHING undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses." Joshua was OBEDIENT. He left NOTHING undone of ALL that the Lord commanded! Wouldn't you like the Lord to say the same thing about you? Wouldn't it be wonderful to have left NOTHING undone that He gave you to do? Look at the promises God gave to Joshua because Joshua was so FAITHFUL and OBEDIENT:
"Every place that the soul of our foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you...." "There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life....I will be with thee: I will not fail thee nor forsake thee."
"Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law. ...Turn not from it to the right hand or the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:3, 5 and 7 These are only a few of the many promises God gave to Joshua. These same promises can be yours and mine if we will be faithful and obedient to the Lord. Jesus wants us to love Him with all out heart, soul, mind and strength. He has promised to do great things in our lives, if we will do as Joshua did: "...choose you this day Whom ye will serve; . . . as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15 The Lord wants us to be FAITHFUL (without faith it is impossible to please Him) and He wants us to be OBEDIENT, so that someday, when we stand before Him, He will say, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:21) "For I was ahungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: "Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me: "Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee ahungered, and fed thee? Or thirsty, and gave thee drink? "When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in or naked, and clothed thee? "Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? "And the King shall answer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of the My brethren, ye have done it unto Me." (Mathew 25:5-40) Dear friends, I believe that the greatest outreach for SEAM is still ahead. I have been praying for 10,000 SEAM workers on the mission field, and we praise Jesus that we have over 4,000 workers and churches. Our SEAM workers have reached hundreds of thousands for Christ, but there are still 2.5 billion people to be reached. Even with the great success on the mission field, we have had persecution. "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." (II Timothy 3:12) Some of our workers have been imprisoned, some beaten, and some have had attempts on their lives: e.g. stabbed multiple times to stop or kill our beloved coworkers who are preaching the Gospel. It has actually caused the Gospel outreach to grow. We have had to pay the authorities to help those who have been imprisoned to get them out of prison, and the Lord has given us success. We thank you for your help and prayers. The Lord continues to five us many thousands of new believers, even with these persecutions. In my own family, my wife Jan has recently had surgery: the doctors removed several large abdominal tumors, as well as her ovaries, her spleen, and a great deal of her large intestine. She has been diagnosed with Stage Three metastatic ovarian cancer. The prognosis is not good: In spite of surgery, she still needs a MIRACLE to be healed. We are praying for the Lord to heal her completely. This is her third major life-threatening illness, and it appears to be another attack from the old evil one who is trying to destroy her and to hurt the mission. We would appreciate your prayers for her.

Friends, moments before our Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven He addressed those disciples that were with Him with marching orders that have not expired even today. It is often referred to as "The Great Commission". "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, (even) unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:19 & 20) The Apostle James wrote: "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction, (and) to keep himself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27) Friends, at Southeast Asian Missions we are doing these things. But, we cannot do this alone. In Matthew 16:18 our Lord makes a statement to Peter: "And I say unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church..." The word "Church" is "Ekklesia" in Greek, which is "Assembly" or Assembled". Either word is plural or multiple or lots of people. Southeast Asian Missions needs lots of people that will help spread the borders of our Kings kingdom until He returns. In the weeks and months ahead this web site will grow with information and opportunities for you to know who SEAM is, what we do, and why. Many opportunities will abound for you to share in this labor of love for our King, the "King of Kings".
